Soon, we will be launching the Annual “Run for the Green” event to raise money for the IB program at Birney. IB stands for International Baccalaureate and represents the programs and activities that complement classroom learning such as Garden, Spanish, and performing Arts. The “specials” are not funded by the School board, so Birney relies on generous donations from family and friends to underwrite these programs.
Here are some ways you can help:
Opportunity drawing.
We would appreciate donations of prize-worthy items for the opportunity drawing. Any new/unused item appropriate for either K-2 grade or 3rd-5th graders, such as Gift cards, passes or tickets for museums, Zoo, amusement parks, etc… would be welcomed. Soon after Run for the Green (RFTG), we will hold an Opportunity drawing. Every student who raises $20 for RFTG gets entered in the drawing. And for every additional $10 raised, each student gets another ticket in the drawing.
Sponsorship
Any individual (Grandparent, parent, relative, friend) or community member or business is most welcome to be a sponsor. Here are a few ways you can sponsor this event:
1. Bee sponsorships (Sponsor a Birney student):
-donate on behalf of a Birney student(s) who otherwise would not be able to participate in RFTG. A donation of $20 guarantees entry into the Opportunity drawing but all donations are welcome!
2. Classroom sponsorships:
-sponsor a classroom of students. A per student amount is recommended and appreciated.
3. Tee it up sponsor:
-Purchase a t-shirt for a student who otherwise would not receive one by donating $75.
4. Run for the GREEN sponsorship:
-sponsorships start at $500. Any individual or business who donates $500 or more will be recognized on the RFTG Wall of Fame & Appreciation for 1 year! (this is aka the RFTG Board on the Birney campus).
Also, any donation of $1K or greater will also provide the individual or business with recognition in many additional ways such as being listed on the back of the RFTG t-shirt (if donation arrives by March 20th), the electronic board at Birney, and more!
